All of the Major Search Engines...In One!

Dogpile.com is a metasearch-based search engine which gathers its results from industry leading engines, such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo!.  Each search engine is different and produces different results. Dogpile compares these various search engines and finds the results that are the most relevant to the user’s search post.  In short, all the user has to do is type in their desired search word or phrase and then click the “go fetch!” button (similar to Google’s search button).  This easy-to-use interface is formatted in a way similar to other search engines like Google, and Bing, but Dogpile is gathering a wider and more diverse range of results.  Dogpile.com is a blend of an organic webpage and a paid website, as is Google, but Google clearly separates the organic results from the paid advertisements, where as Dogpile intermixes them in one list of results.  So while Dogpile gives a wider range of search results, it also mixes advertisements into the organic results, causing confusion (because people may not realize they are sponsored ads) and annoyance (if users do realize they have to then sort through to find the organic material).
