FriendWho?
As a start-up social media site in 2002, Friendster.com aimed to be a social networking site for users to share photos, videos, etc. Unfortunately for Friendster, their execution was poor and with the rise of Facebook and Myspace, they lagged behind. In 2011, Friendster revamped as a social gaming site, bringing in over 115 million users. The newer social gaming site allows users to chat, interact, and keep score records. However, as of last May, the creators of Friendster cleared out the social networking aspect of the site, leaving it mostly geared toward an Asian audience with limited “friending”. Read more about Friendster's turnover from networking to gaming in this article by TechCrunch.
