The Evolution of News Reporting

Not only has the Internet made it easier to access news, but it has almost made it overwhelming. Overwhelming of course in a good way.   500 years ago there was no such thing as breaking news.  News was mostly spread through word of mouth.  In 1456 the printing press was invented and sparked a revolution in the news industry.  News papers became widely available to the public. In 1901 there was a huge breakthrough with news radio.  Today there is thousands of different ways to receive breaking news.  On an iPhone you can have multiple applications such as CNN or the New York Times that give you real time updates on what is going on in world news.  Not only has breaking news become extremely available but also it seems that anyone who has access to a computer can virtually become a news reporter.  Now people can go online and publish articles and post videos on independent portals.  Blogs have also become a main source of news and communication but also debate.  It is widely believed the future of news reporting lies within the Internet.  With instant access, news can be widely distributed in seconds.  With the different channels of media, there are endless opportunities for news to be spread.  Being able to receive and access breaking news and news sites so easily is a huge advantage to the people of the world.  You can read more about the evolution of news reporting at
