A New Revenue Source For Facebook

It’s very difficult to find a college student without a Facebook.   Facebook makes the majority of its money from advertising and one problem that they have encountered is collecting ad revenue through mobile devices.

Almost one is five of Facebook’s users access the site exclusively from their mobile devices

As a result of their high mobile use, Facebook recently decided to start putting ads on their mobile website and applications. You may notice that your news feed now has Sponsored Stories, which are status updates, doubling as ads, which show up on your news feed.  It is estimated that these new advertisements on mobile devices bring in around $500,000 a day.
