Blippar Gives an Augmented Reality

-->
In the summer of 2012, Maybelline released print ads that gave potential customers an augmented reality. Blipping, “the action of instantaneously converting anything in the real world into an interactive wow experience,” is considered the new trend in marketing since many companies are now “blipping” their products. To blip an ad or product, a person simply hovers their device over a full screen image of the object and watch it come to life. This works for people on the go, since the app contains all the information consumers need to know about the product, and can help the consumer determine if the product is a good fit for them. In Maybelline’s ad, customers were able to virtually try on nail polish. Other products that use the Blippar app let consumers see suggested recipes for the product, enter contests, and play games. This could tremendously help lesser-known products sell. For more information about this app:  Blippar App
