The newest way for marketers to reach their target audiences is by using in-application advertising and "the impossible test" is doing a great job at doing so.

Marketing advertisements can now be put in simple applications like for example the flashlight on your iPhone. In this particular app, the ads are not meant for a specific target audience, being that practically EVERYONE uses a flash light. However, a game like the "impossible test" developed  by pixel cube has ads that are for the audience that likes to play mobile games.
The impossible test targets its audiences.

The "impossible test" gives ads that are portrayed as notifications, really catching your attention and making you read the whole thing. And of course, by clicking these ads, it takes you directly to the site or app store on which you can buy or download the game they advertised This particular app most certainly is conducive to a mobile audience, being that all of its ads are games in the app store. Which makes sense, being that if you are already playing a game on your phone, it must mean you like games. But in the case of the flashlight, what kind of audience can you really target? When I used the app, an ad for Levi's jeans and an ad for online college showed up. Both of which cannot be done on your mobile device. It certainly is not conducive, but who is the target audience for a flashlight app?
