Is Your Address Common Information?

Have you ever tweeted something along the lines of “finally home after a long day of work”? Hopefully not, and if you have, you will learn very quickly to get out of this habit. The website WeKnowYourHouse.com has consistently been able to locate individuals houses through tweets. The way in which this is done is the site will look for key words such as “home” “house” and “apartment” or anything along those lines. Next, using the location services that most phones have activated, they will be able to trace the position of where the tweet has been tweeted. Essentially if an individual tweets “finally home” and, is in fact is in their home, this website compiles the address of where the tweet was tweeted and relates it back to the twitter account of this certain individual; a scary revelation for many twitter users, which will have many thinking twice about tweets being sent out.
