Businesses "Pin" Down Their Consumers

Increasingly growing in popularity amongst other social media sites, Pinterest has caught the attention of businesses wanting to lure their customers in with appealing, visually, and easy marketing. Pinterest is a pin-board style website where people can pin photos or videos based on events, hobbies, interests and more. Social Media Delivered lists 20 companies (Sony, Whole Foods, and The Travel Channel to name a few) that post photos of their products in the hopes that consumers will like it, pin it, and share it with their follower groups.

Another article by Social Media Delivered breaks down how businesses can use Pinterest to their advantage, known as the Social Media Business Equation. The article says businesses should use Pinterest 20% of the time to inform clients, 20% of the time to entertain, 40% to interact with their audiences, and 20% to convert their followers into advertisers. Like many other social networking sites, Pinterest is available as a mobile app so people can "pin" on the run, maybe even pin photos of company's products while shopping in their stores. With a photo being worth a thousand words, long are the days when people had to listen to companies' droning speeches about why they're better than their competitors. Just let the consumers see it, believe it, and pin it for themselves.
