Is Media Corrupting Youth?

One particular study, “A Longitudinal Study of the Association Between Violent Video Game Play and Aggression Among Adolescents” concentrated on the correlation between video games and the behavior it causes in young adults. Almost 1,500 high school students were asked about their attitudes and the video games they play. This study found that the student’s who had admitted to playing violent video games, were physically more aggressive than those who didn’t play the same amount of violent video games. Researchers concluded that the reasoning for this aggression is that video games assist young children or adults develop beliefs and behaviors, basing their morals off what they are seeing in violent video games. Nonviolent games don’t have the same amount of aggression. What steps should we take to prevent this behavior?
