Violent Gaming and Adolescents

When I was younger, my brothers purchased the game Grand Theft Auto. I remember watching them play and being frightened by what I saw. Today, video games are a rising controversy. Do they provoke violence in children? Or do they just instigate violent tendencies in already aggressive children? The article titled, Violent video games linked to child aggression, explains a 2008 study that viewed Japanese and American children ages 12 to 18 and the effect of violent video games and child aggression. The results were not surprising. The children who were exposed to violent video games, were observed as exceptionally more violent. Adolescents can become addicted to violent video games, possibly leading to violent tendencies outside of the video game.
