Video Game Affects on Youth

The major concern with the youth and video games is the antisocial aspect of it.  Being addicted to a video game may prevent a kid from going outside to exercise or socialize with friends.  An article on Tech Addiction (http://www.techaddiction.ca/teenagers-addicted-to-computer-games.html) states that although it is possible to be addicted to a video game, it is not currently considered a psychological disorder.  A major issue with parents and their kids playing video games is grades.  Because a child may get obsessed with a video game it takes away from their schoolwork and therefore their grades suffer.  Also video games take away from kids social life, athletic life, and school life.  It takes away valuable time to be outside socializing with real human beings and forming that real life relationship with people.  Video games also prevent kids from getting outside to play sports and now a large percent of kids aren’t wanting to play sports because of the affect of video games.
This youtube video takes a different approach and shows that video games are in fact becoming like a behavior script, which is just like learning please and thank you.  When you learn to do something in a fictional world it really affects your outside life.  We give the valence of good or bad to these video games.  Kids have the ability to control the amount they play and how they go about playing these video games.( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsMFsdS3aqU)
